NOTICE
All estimated costs are just that, estimates.
For every parish there are subdivisions and municipalities that may have higher or lower tax rates. Generally, the difference is very small and negligible but we just want you to know about it.
The tax rates are reflect the 2025 newly increased State Sales Tax of 5% and the Parish Tax (Louisiana Parish and Municipality Tax Table). The values used in calculating the totals are based upon the publicly listed data by the Louisiana Department of Revenue and Louisiana Department of Public Safety Office of Motor Vehicles
What is the Difference between a Tag Agent and going to the Office of Motor Vehicles?
It’s all a matter of convenience honestly and some people prefer to avoid the Office of Motor Vehicles at all costs. Of course with this convenience there is a cost, and technically it’s a double convenience cost. Louisiana will charge a roughly $23 charge (more or less, need to check the statute) and the Public Tag Agent will charge their own fees for their services.
